A dream debut for Mjällby. The Swedish side, fresh from their 2026 Allsvenskan triumph, made light work of their opponents in front of their 7,000-capacity Strandvallen stadium, securing a commanding lead heading into next week’s return fixture.

Dominance in the first half

The home side raced into a three-goal lead before the break, with Faroese forward Aki Samuelsen opening the scoring within minutes. The 22-year-old striker doubled the advantage in the 18th minute before Jacob Bergström made it 3-0 just before the half-hour mark. Samuelsen nearly completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot in the 66th minute, but his effort was saved, and the second half saw no further scoring from either side.

Next challenge in Gibraltar

Mjällby will face Lincoln Red Imps again on Tuesday at the Victoria Stadium in Gibraltar (18:00 CET). The winner will advance to face either Georgia’s Iberia 1999 or Slovakia’s Slovan Bratislava in the third qualifying round, after the latter secured a 2-0 away victory over their Georgian opponents this evening.
