N’Djamena – World Vision Tchad has officially unveiled its 2026-2030 national strategy, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at transforming the lives of 3.29 million children—including 3.09 million from the most at-risk communities—by 2030. The launch, held at a high-profile press conference in N’Djamena, brought together media representatives, technical and financial partners, and national authorities to discuss the transformative plan.

During the event, Carla Dominique Denizard, West Africa Regional Director for World Vision, emphasized the strategy’s innovative approach. She described it as a bold leap toward integrating humanitarian aid, sustainable development, and peacebuilding—a framework known as the “Humanitarian-Development-Peace Nexus.” “Children in Tchad deserve more than survival; they deserve the chance to thrive,” she stated, highlighting the importance of strong partnerships, community engagement, and cultural sensitivity in achieving these goals.

Denizard stressed that West and Central Africa face persistent challenges, including insecurity, deep-rooted poverty, climate change impacts, and large-scale population displacements. To counter these issues, World Vision’s strategy adopts a holistic approach, combining immediate relief with long-term development and peace efforts. The plan aligns with continental and global frameworks, including the African Union’s Agenda 2063, the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 13, and 16), and Tchad’s Vision 2030.

The strategy prioritizes human capital development, social protection, climate adaptation, literacy through the Unlock Literacy program, and child protection. Édouard Ngoy Wangoy, National Director of World Vision Tchad, called the launch a “historic milestone” and noted a 20% increase in ambition compared to previous cycles. “Our goal is clear: every child in Tchad should not only survive but flourish,” he declared.

Ngoy Wangoy highlighted Tchad’s persistent struggles with poverty, malnutrition, recurring humanitarian crises, and climate-related adversities, with nearly 42% of the population living below the poverty line. The 2026-2030 strategy focuses on integrated nutrition and health programs, maternal and child health improvements, educational access via Unlock Literacy, safeguarding children from violence, and building community resilience against climate shocks.

Closing the event, World Vision Tchad’s leadership issued a call to action, urging government bodies, technical and financial partners, civil society, religious leaders, and the media to collaborate. They emphasized that collective mobilization is essential to turning current challenges into sustainable opportunities for Tchad’s children. The strategy represents a pivotal step toward realizing Tchad’s Vision 2030 and achieving the SDGs, ensuring every child is protected, nourished, educated, and empowered to reach their full potential.
