N’Djamena – World Vision Chad has officially unveiled its 2026-2030 national strategy in a high-profile press conference held in N’Djamena on July 9, 2026. The event brought together media representatives, technical and financial partners, and national authorities to introduce a bold roadmap designed to uplift the lives of 3.29 million children by 2030, including 3.09 million from the most vulnerable communities.

The strategy hinges on an integrated approach combining humanitarian aid, sustainable development, and peacebuilding, with a strong focus on health, nutrition, education, child protection, and climate resilience. The launch took place at the N’Djamena Residence Hotel, marking a significant milestone for the organization and the children of Chad.

During the event, Carla Dominique Denizard, West Africa Regional Director for World Vision based in Dakar, described the strategy as “bold and innovative.” She emphasized its foundation on the Humanitarian-Development-Peace Nexus, which bridges emergency interventions with long-term development and peace efforts. “Children in Chad deserve abundant lives,” she stated, highlighting the importance of strong partnerships, community engagement, and cultural integration in achieving this vision.

Denizard also underscored World Vision’s broader goal across West and Central Africa: ensuring every child in fragile contexts not only survives but thrives. She pointed to the region’s significant challenges, including insecurity, multidimensional poverty, climate change impacts, and mass displacement, which necessitate a holistic response. The new strategy reflects this integrated approach, combining humanitarian assistance, sustainable development, and peacebuilding to address these complex issues.

The strategy aligns with key continental and global frameworks, including the African Union’s Agenda 2063, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 13, and 16), and Chad’s Vision 2030. It prioritizes human capital development, social protection, climate adaptation, literacy through the Unlock Literacy program, and child protection. The ultimate aim is to create an environment where every child in Chad is safeguarded, well-nourished, educated, and empowered to reach their full potential.

Édouard Ngoy Wangoy, National Director of World Vision Chad, hailed the launch as a “historic moment” for the organization and the future of Chadian children. He noted that the new strategy represents a 20% increase in ambition compared to the previous cycle, with a clear and bold target: reaching 3.29 million children by 2030, including 3.09 million from vulnerable groups. “Our ambition is simple yet profound: every child in Chad should not just survive but thrive,” he declared.

Wangoy also highlighted Chad’s persistent challenges, including entrenched poverty, malnutrition, recurring humanitarian crises, and climate change effects. With nearly 42% of the population living below the poverty line, he stressed the urgent need for intensified support to the most vulnerable populations.

The 2026-2030 strategy is built on several priority areas: integrated nutrition and health programs with a focus on maternal and child health, improved education through the Unlock Literacy initiative to enhance early reading skills, robust child protection measures against all forms of violence, and strengthened community resilience to climate change impacts.

Following the presentation, World Vision Chad’s leadership issued a call to action, urging national stakeholders—government authorities, technical and financial partners, civil society organizations, religious and community leaders, and the media—to collaborate closely. They emphasized that collective mobilization is essential to turn current challenges into sustainable opportunities for Chadian children. Through this strategy, World Vision Chad aims to play a pivotal role in realizing the country’s Vision 2030 and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, building a nation where every child is protected, nourished, educated, and empowered.
