A wave of reactions has swept through Touba following Ousmane Sonko‘s latest remarks during his Sunday gathering. A coalition representing the descendants of Serigne Touba—founder of the Mouride Brotherhood—has vowed to take legal action against the prominent political figure.

Madiambal Diagne, a seasoned journalist and communications director, revealed that the group intends to formally lodge a complaint, accusing Sonko of making unfounded claims about public funds being diverted to Touba. The allegations, which sparked immediate outrage, have prompted the descendants to seek justice through the courts.

The legal team behind the complaint is expected to hold a press conference this week to outline the grounds for the lawsuit and the specific legal violations Sonko is accused of.
