France blocks panafrican influencer accused of spreading pro-Russia propaganda

France and Russia are engaged in a fierce information war on African soil, with Moscow deploying hybrid tactics to weaken Paris’s long-standing influence across the continent. Since its 2018 military intervention in the Central African Republic, Russia has intensified efforts to sway public opinion, leveraging influencers to amplify pro-Russian narratives. While France has only recently recognized the scale of this strategy—long used by Moscow in other regions—it is now pushing back against these tactics.
