This multi-faceted pact underscores a shared commitment to fostering mutual growth, solidarity, and sustainable development between the two countries.

Justice, security and legal sovereignty

The security and judicial framework stands as a cornerstone of the seventh session of bilateral talks. To combat transnational crime and streamline judicial processes, three pivotal conventions were ratified: one on mutual legal assistance in criminal matters, another on extradition, and a third on the transfer of sentenced persons. These legal instruments are bolstered by a dedicated security cooperation agreement, complete with a financial protocol outlining provisions for civil protection. Additionally, joint action plans in the justice sector have been updated to ensure a robust institutional framework that safeguards the stability and welfare of citizens in both nations.

Investing in human capital and productive sectors

Education, vocational training, and youth development take center stage in this bilateral roadmap. The framework agreement governing scholarships, internships, and knowledge exchange has been extended through 2029, alongside a vocational training convention. New avenues of cooperation have been forged in higher education, scientific research, and innovation, further reinforced by a memorandum of understanding focused on sports and athletic training.

Economic, environmental, and sector-specific collaboration also took a significant leap forward. An agreement on mutual administrative assistance in customs matters was inked, alongside a protocol addressing food safety standards. Tourism and environmental sustainability were not overlooked, with partnerships forged for joint tourism promotion and a memorandum dedicated to ecological transition and sustainable development.
