In the Anguissa district of Yaoundé’s fourth arrondissement, a brutal murder has left the community in mourning. Sylvana, a 10-year-old girl, was fatally stabbed in the early hours of Sunday, June 28, 2026.

Residents of Anguissa were gripped by horror and disbelief on Sunday morning as news of the tragedy spread. Sylvana, a bright and innocent child, was reportedly stabbed to death by a 22-year-old woman, who claimed to have acted under divine inspiration. The heinous act occurred while Sylvana’s parents were away from home.

Investigators have confirmed that the young girl sustained multiple stab wounds before succumbing to her injuries. The suspect, who was taken into custody on June 28, 2026, inside a place of worship, is now in police custody as authorities work to uncover the full details of this shocking crime.
