Côte d’Ivoire rallies investors to boost 2026-2030 development plan

Abidjan hosted a pivotal gathering on July 9, 2026, as Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé officially launched the second day of consultations for the National Development Plan (PND) spanning 2026 to 2030. The high-profile event unfolded at the Sofitel Hôtel Ivoire, drawing over 700 international investors eager to explore opportunities in Côte d’Ivoire’s thriving economy.

The Prime Minister opened the session by underscoring the critical role of private investment in driving the nation’s ambitious growth agenda. Addressing a room filled with business leaders, investors, and representatives from the private sector, he remarked, « This marks a decisive phase in our collective effort to mobilize private capital and translate our developmental vision into tangible progress. The presence of more than 700 investors from allied nations reflects the global confidence in Côte d’Ivoire’s economic potential. »

The session served as a strategic platform for dialogue between government officials and private stakeholders, fostering alignment on shared economic objectives. « Your participation today is a testament to the trust placed in Côte d’Ivoire’s economic resilience and growth trajectory. As key partners, your investments will be instrumental in shaping a more competitive, job-rich economy, » the Prime Minister emphasized.

Highlighting the government’s commitment to private sector-led transformation, he noted that Côte d’Ivoire’s economy has consistently demonstrated remarkable resilience and adaptability. With an average annual growth rate of 6.5% over recent years, the nation stands out as one of Africa’s most dynamic economies. « This is a market brimming with potential, » he asserted, « and today’s discussions are set to accelerate investments in priority sectors outlined in the PND 2026-2030. »

The plan prioritizes several key areas, including industrialization and local processing of raw materials to enhance value addition, the development of critical infrastructure such as transportation, digital networks, and logistics to bolster competitiveness, and investments in human capital, innovation, and essential services to foster a more productive and inclusive economy.

Reflecting on the success of the first day, which focused on institutional partners and the presentation of the national development strategy, the Prime Minister revealed that it attracted over 3,000 participants from 49 countries. This turnout underscored the international community’s strong interest in Côte d’Ivoire’s economic trajectory.

Leading voices from the private sector echoed the Prime Minister’s optimism. Ahmed Cissé, President of the General Confederation of Enterprises of Côte d’Ivoire (CGECI), Mehdi Tazi, President of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM), and Mohamed Gouled, Vice President of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), reaffirmed their unwavering confidence in the government’s vision. They pledged substantial financial commitments to support the PND 2026-2030, signaling a robust partnership between public and private sectors to propel Côte d’Ivoire toward its developmental goals.
