World Vision Tchad’s Ambitious 2030 Roadmap for Child Welfare

N’Djamena – World Vision Tchad has unveiled its groundbreaking five-year strategy (2026-2030) during a high-profile press conference in the capital. The initiative targets 3.29 million children across the country, with a special focus on reaching 3.09 million of the most vulnerable young lives. This comprehensive plan merges humanitarian aid, sustainable development, and peacebuilding efforts to create lasting change.

Holistic Approach Combines Emergency Aid with Long-Term Development

The strategy’s core lies in its integrated “Humanitarian-Development-Peace Nexus” approach, which bridges immediate relief with sustainable progress. Regional Director Carla Dominique Denizard emphasized that this model ensures children not only survive but thrive by addressing root causes rather than symptoms. “Every child in Chad deserves the chance to reach their full potential,” she stated, highlighting the need for cultural sensitivity and community ownership in implementation.

Aligning with Continental and Global Development Goals

This initiative directly supports Chad’s Vision 2030 and aligns with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 13 and 16). Key priorities include:

• Nutrition and health: Strengthening maternal and child health services
• Education revolution: Implementing the Unlock Literacy program to boost early reading skills
• Child protection: Shielding children from violence and exploitation
• Climate resilience: Building community capacity to withstand environmental shocks
• Social protection: Expanding safety nets for marginalized groups

Denizard noted that over 42% of Chad’s population lives below the poverty line, making this comprehensive approach essential for breaking cycles of deprivation.

National Director Outlines Implementation Roadmap

Édouard Ngoy Wangoy, National Director of World Vision Tchad, called the strategy “a historic milestone” representing a 20% increase in ambition from previous plans. “Our goal is simple: every child in Chad should not just survive but flourish,” he declared. The plan’s success depends on collaboration between government agencies, development partners, civil society, religious leaders, and media outlets.

Call for Multi-Stakeholder Collaboration

Both leaders emphasized that achieving these ambitious targets requires coordinated action across sectors. They urged all stakeholders to contribute their unique strengths to transform current challenges into sustainable opportunities for Chadian children. The strategy represents more than just an organizational plan – it’s a blueprint for building a nation where children are protected, nourished, educated, and empowered to reach their full potential.
