N’Djamena – World Vision Tchad has officially introduced its ambitious 2026-2030 national strategy, marking a significant milestone during a high-profile press conference held in the capital. The event brought together media representatives, technical and financial partners, and national authorities to unveil a comprehensive plan designed to uplift the lives of 3.29 million children, including 3.09 million of the most at-risk youth, by 2030.

During her address, Carla Dominique Denizard, Regional Director for World Vision West Africa based in Dakar, described the strategy as “bold and innovative.” She emphasized its foundation in the Humanitarian-Development-Peace Nexus approach, which bridges emergency responses with long-term sustainable development and peace-building efforts. “Every child in Tchad deserves a life of abundance,” she stated, highlighting the critical role of strong partnerships, community engagement, and the integration of cultural and spiritual values in achieving this vision.

Denizard underscored the pressing challenges facing Tchad and the wider West and Central Africa region, including insecurity, multidimensional poverty, climate change impacts, and large-scale population displacements. “Our goal is not just survival but full flourishing for every child in the most fragile contexts,” she noted, stressing the need for an integrated approach that combines humanitarian aid, sustainable development, and peace consolidation.

The strategy aligns with key continental and international frameworks, including the African Union’s Agenda 2063, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 13, and 16), and Tchad’s Vision 2030. It prioritizes human capital development, social protection, climate adaptation, enhanced education through the Unlock Literacy program, and child protection initiatives.

Édouard Ngoy Wangoy, National Director of World Vision Tchad, hailed the strategy’s launch as a “historic moment” for the organization and the future of Tchad’s children. He revealed that the new plan represents a 20% increase in ambition compared to the previous cycle, aiming to reach 3.29 million children, with 3.09 million from vulnerable backgrounds. “Our mission is clear: every child in Tchad must not only survive but thrive,” he declared.

Wangoy highlighted Tchad’s ongoing struggles with persistent poverty, malnutrition, recurrent humanitarian crises, and climate change effects, noting that nearly 42% of the population lives below the poverty line. He outlined the strategy’s key pillars: integrated nutrition and health programs with a focus on maternal and child health, education enhancement through the Unlock Literacy initiative to foster early reading skills, comprehensive child protection measures, and community resilience-building against climate impacts.

Concluding the presentation, World Vision Tchad’s leadership issued a call to action for all national stakeholders. They urged government authorities, technical and financial partners, civil society organizations, religious and community leaders, and media outlets to collaborate closely to ensure the strategy’s success. “Collective mobilization is essential to turn today’s challenges into sustainable opportunities for Tchad’s children,” they emphasized. Through this 2026-2030 strategy, World Vision Tchad aims to contribute meaningfully to the country’s Vision 2030 and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, fostering a nation where every child is protected, nourished, educated, and empowered to reach their full potential.
