In N’Djamena, World Vision Chad officially unveiled its comprehensive national strategy for 2026-2030 during a press conference held on Thursday, July 9, 2026. This significant event brought together media representatives, key technical and financial partners, and national authorities. With this ambitious new roadmap, the organization aims to significantly improve the lives of 3.29 million children by 2030, specifically targeting 3.09 million of the most vulnerable young individuals. The initiative promises enhanced interventions across critical sectors including health, nutrition, education, child protection, and climate resilience. The launch took place at the Residence Hotel in N’Djamena.

Carla Dominique Denizard, World Vision’s Regional Director for West Africa, based in Dakar, described the new strategy as both “audacious and innovative.” She elaborated that its foundation lies in the “Humanitarian-Development-Peace Nexus” approach, designed to seamlessly integrate emergency responses with sustainable development efforts and peacebuilding initiatives. Denizard emphasized that the children of Chad deserve a life of abundance, a goal achievable through robust partnerships, strong community mobilization, and a deep appreciation for cultural and spiritual realities.

Continuing her address, Denizard reiterated World Vision’s overarching vision for West and Central Africa: to ensure every child in the most fragile contexts not only survives but also thrives to their fullest potential. She highlighted the persistent formidable challenges facing the region, such as widespread insecurity, pervasive multidimensional poverty, the escalating impacts of climate change, and large-scale population displacements. In response to these complex realities, the organization has adopted an integrated strategy that harmonizes humanitarian assistance, long-term sustainable development, and peace consolidation.

The World Vision Chad strategy, she explained, is meticulously aligned with major continental and international frameworks. These include the African Union’s Agenda 2063, several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 13, and 16), and Chad’s own Vision 2030. The strategy places a strong emphasis on strengthening human capital, enhancing social protection mechanisms, fostering adaptation to climate change, improving educational outcomes through the innovative Unlock Literacy program, and ensuring robust child protection measures.

Édouard Ngoy Wangoy, the National Director for World Vision Chad, characterized the launch as a “historic moment” for the organization and for the future of Chadian children. He revealed that this new strategy signifies a 20% increase in the organization’s ambitions compared to its previous strategic cycle. Wangoy articulated a clear yet bold objective: to reach 3.29 million children by 2030, with a particular focus on the 3.09 million most vulnerable. “Our desire is for every child in Chad to not only survive but also to flourish completely,” he affirmed.

The National Director also underscored the numerous challenges that continue to confront Chad, including enduring poverty, widespread malnutrition, recurrent humanitarian crises, and the severe consequences of climate change. Data presented by World Vision indicates that nearly 42% of the Chadian population lives below the poverty line, underscoring the urgent need to intensify efforts to support the most vulnerable communities.

He detailed that the 2026-2030 strategy is built upon several core priority areas. These include bolstering integrated nutrition and health services, with a specific emphasis on maternal and child health; elevating educational standards through the Unlock Literacy program, which aims to cultivate reading skills from early schooling years; safeguarding children against all forms of violence; and strengthening the resilience of communities in the face of climate change impacts.

Following the comprehensive presentation, World Vision Chad’s leadership issued a collective appeal to all national stakeholders. They urged public authorities, technical and financial partners, civil society organizations, religious and community leaders, and the media to unite their efforts to ensure the successful implementation of this vital strategy.
