Waly Diouf Bodian hits back at Mary Teuw Niang: ‘we don’t respect those who disrespect Ousmane Sonko’

Waly Diouf Bodian, a political leader within Pastef, has strongly responded to recent remarks made by Professor Mary Teuw Niang concerning verbal violence and the importance of respect in public discourse. Bodian accuses the former Minister of Higher Education of inconsistency, following Niang’s earlier attacks on Pastef’s leader, Ousmane Sonko.

Bodian flatly rejects the academic’s calls for calm and criticises his institutional stance. “After calling President Ousmane Sonko an impostor, Mary Teuw Niang now comes to lecture us on morality, verbal violence, and respect for others. It’s too late, Professor,” Bodian declared. Continuing his tirade, he added: “Your literary nonsense on Sundays no longer works with us patriots. We do not respect those who do not respect Ousmane Sonko.” He concluded by accusing Niang of abandoning national values to align himself with those in power.
