Ousmane sonko warns of no-confidence motion against al aminou lo’s government

Motion of no confidence: Ousmane Sonko ready to challenge Al Aminou Lo’s government

Motion de censure : Ousmane Sonko prêt à faire tomber le gouvernement d’Al Aminou Lo

Ousmane Sonko has issued a firm warning, stating his intention to initiate a no-confidence motion against the current government. The prominent leader of PASTEF made this declaration during a gathering in Touba, asserting that his party is prepared to utilize this parliamentary mechanism to challenge practices deemed unacceptable.

During a recent event in Touba, part of PASTEF’s ’48 hours’ program, Ousmane Sonko publicly threatened to bring a motion of no confidence against the government led by Prime Minister Al Aminou Lo. The leader of PASTEF made it unequivocally clear that his political movement would not hesitate to invoke this legislative tool if the current governmental direction persists.

“We will employ every legal avenue at our disposal, including the motion of no confidence, to bring down the government, and we will do so as many times as necessary,” Ousmane Sonko declared to his party’s supporters. The president of PASTEF justified this resolute stance by emphasizing that his political formation cannot condone practices that contradict the core principles for which its members have tirelessly advocated and struggled.

“We have fought for ten years, enduring sacrifices and honoring martyrs. We will not permit such practices to become entrenched,” he affirmed. Through this powerful statement, Ousmane Sonko positions the motion of no confidence as a central element of his political strategy against the government. He views this parliamentary recourse as a legitimate means to oppose decisions he disapproves of, confirming PASTEF’s readiness to deploy it whenever circumstances demand.
