Mali secures new logistics boost for security forces

The Ministry of Security and Civil Protection has significantly upgraded the operational readiness of Mali’s Security Forces by handing over a fleet of twenty vehicles and specialized equipment, fully funded through national resources.

A formal ceremony held on July 31, 2026, marked the official transfer of these assets. The event was led by General Daoud Aly MOHAMMEDINE, who presided over the proceedings. Among the new additions are six 60-seat buses, a recovery vehicle, two 20,000-litre Spiros tankers, eight 4,000-litre fire-fighting tankers, and three 50,000-litre fire-pump tankers. These vehicles have been allocated to the National Police, Civil Protection, National Gendarmerie, National Guard, and the Staff College of the Security Forces.

General MOHAMMEDINE emphasized that the acquisition reflects the commitment of President Assimi of the Transition to strengthen the operational capabilities of the Armed Forces and Security Services. His remarks highlighted the critical role of robust logistics in enhancing mobility and rapid response capabilities to address evolving security threats across the country.

Brigadier General Boucary KODIO, Director General of Civil Protection, reaffirmed the recipients’ dedication to utilizing these resources responsibly. The ceremony concluded with a live demonstration of the fire-fighting tankers, showcasing their operational effectiveness in emergency scenarios.
