Mali: army reports heavy losses for armed groups in northern strikes

Mali’s armed forces have disclosed the elimination of nearly a hundred fighters in coordinated military operations conducted in the northern regions of Anfif and Tabrachat. The operations, carried out on Tuesday in partnership with allied forces, targeted members of the Group for the Support of Islam and Muslims (JNIM) and the Azauad Liberation Front (FLA).

Coordinated strikes inflict heavy damage on armed factions

The Malian army revealed that 13 airstrikes were launched during the raids, resulting in the destruction of six combat vehicles and a pickup truck. These precision strikes not only neutralized enemy fighters but also disrupted their logistical capabilities, according to military sources.

The Africa Corps, in a separate statement on X, confirmed the destruction of multiple militant vehicles through its own operations. Additionally, an Africa Corps drone successfully struck a vehicle transporting ammunition and military equipment, further crippling the militants’ operational capacity.

The Africa Corps described the joint efforts as highly effective, highlighting the sustained targeting of militant positions and equipment in coordination with Malian troops. The organization pledged to maintain these operations, ensuring continued pressure on armed factions in the region.
