Luther Meka criticises Mamadou Mota’s French as a massacre of poetic language

André Luther Meka, spokesperson for the Rassemblement démocratique du peuple camerounais (Rdpc), has expressed outrage over the French language proficiency of Mamadou Mota, vice-president of the Mouvement pour la renaissance du Cameroun (Mrc).

His reaction came after Mamadou Mota appeared on the programme “La Vérité en face” on Equinoxe TV on Sunday, 28 June 2026.

“I followed the show ‘La vérité en face’ on Equinoxe TV’s YouTube channel with great interest. I am outraged by Mamadou Mota’s massacre of the French language and his disrespect toward morphosyntax and mastery of concepts. This was a true game of slaughter using the language of Ronsard and Lamartine. It was the peak of mediocrity displayed on television last Sunday. Saperlipopette!!!!” wrote André Luther Meka on his social media platforms.

During the Sunday broadcast, Mamadou Mota advocated for Maurice Kamto’s return to the presidency of the Mrc, despite internal dissent fuelled by figures such as Willy Mengue.
