Ivorian premier minister rallies private sector for 2026-2030 development plan

Abidjan, July 9, 2026 — The second day of the National Development Plan (PND) 2026-2030 Consultative Group, focused exclusively on investors, kicked off today at the Abidjan Sofitel Hôtel Ivoire. The event was led by Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé, who emphasized the critical role of private investment in driving Côte d’Ivoire’s ambitious growth agenda.

“Today marks a pivotal step in this consultative process, centered on investment, entrepreneurship, and value creation,” the Prime Minister stated. “Our goal is to mobilize the private sector to fuel the implementation of this transformative development strategy. I’m pleased to report that over 700 investors from partner nations have joined us for this vital dialogue.”

The Prime Minister highlighted the event as a unique platform for collaboration between government leaders and private stakeholders, fostering a shared vision for Côte d’Ivoire’s economic future. He underscored the pivotal role of investors in turning the country’s growth potential into reality.

“Your commitment alongside us reaffirms the trust placed in Côte d’Ivoire’s economic trajectory and its growth prospects,” he told the assembled business leaders. “You are key partners in realizing our vision for a more competitive, job-creating economy. Success hinges on your willingness to invest in our shared future.”

In a strong endorsement of the private sector’s role, the Prime Minister declared that the government has entrusted the private sphere as the driving force behind Côte d’Ivoire’s economic transformation. He reassured investors of the country’s economic resilience, citing an average growth rate of 6.5% over recent years and positioning Côte d’Ivoire as one of Africa’s most dynamic economies.

“This is a market on the rise, offering vast opportunities,” he asserted. “Today’s agenda will fast-track investments in priority sectors outlined in the PND 2026-2030, including industrialization, local processing of raw materials to boost value addition, strategic infrastructure development in transport, digital technology, and logistics to enhance competitiveness, as well as investments in human capital, innovation, and essential services for a more productive and inclusive economy.”

The Prime Minister also revealed that the first day of the event, dedicated to institutional partners and the presentation of Côte d’Ivoire’s development strategy, attracted over 3,000 participants from 49 countries, including Côte d’Ivoire itself.

Representing the investor community, Ahmed Cissé, President of the Confédération Générale des Entreprises de Côte d’Ivoire (CGECI), along with Mehdi Tazi, President of the Confédération Générale des Entreprises du Maroc (CGEM), and Mohamed Gouled, Vice-President of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), reaffirmed their confidence in Côte d’Ivoire’s leadership. They pledged substantial financial commitments to support the PND 2026-2030, signaling a strong vote of confidence in the country’s economic roadmap.
