The Chadian government has stepped up its campaign against human trafficking, with a renewed focus on women and children who are often the most vulnerable targets. Authorities are enforcing existing laws with greater rigor, while ensuring that justice systems remain alert and responsive.

Human trafficking represents a severe breach of human rights, frequently involving sexual exploitation and forced labor. Chad, a signatory to the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime since 2009, has reinforced its legal framework with key legislation such as Ordinance No. 006/PR/2018 and Law No. 12/PR/2018.

Provincial representatives have been instructed to expedite investigations, document findings thoroughly, and ensure cases are promptly transferred to competent courts. All reports must be forwarded to the General Secretariat of the Ministry of Justice and the National Anti-Trafficking Commission for systematic tracking and follow-up.

This coordinated approach aims to build a comprehensive national database that will serve as the foundation for a more effective anti-trafficking strategy across Chad. The initiative underscores the government’s commitment to eradicating this crime and safeguarding its citizens.
