Cameroon’s Trade Minister Luc Magloire Mbarga Atangana has launched an ambitious consumer goods sale in Yaoundé to give households some financial breathing room.
The promotional campaign, running from June 22 to September 30, 2026, at Boulevard du 20 Mai, aims to directly address rising living costs while supporting families preparing for the 2026-2027 school year.
«This initiative, developed in collaboration with responsible businesses, aligns with government efforts to combat high prices while boosting purchasing power during peak summer months,» explained the Ministry of Trade. «Beyond Yaoundé and major urban centers, the campaign will expand nationwide through mobile promotional caravans, making essential products more accessible to all Cameroonians.»
The minister emphasized that while the current phase targets the capital, the initiative is designed to eventually reach every corner of the country.
