Top military leader supports injured soldiers in Chad after Korbol attack
In a show of solidarity with the armed forces, the commander of the joint Chad-Central African Republic (CAR) military force visited wounded soldiers in Korbol. General Moubarak Abakar Nassour Hor inspected the condition of two service members injured during recent clashes in the region, emphasizing the need for urgent medical evacuation to Chad’s capital for specialized treatment.
Medical evacuation prioritized after Korbol incident
The visit followed an armed attack in Korbol on May 7, 2026, which left two soldiers severely wounded. Sergeant Allahguernganye Diro Martial, 36, sustained a gunshot wound to the chest, while Corporal Djimet Issakah Dane suffered a fractured left leg from gunfire. Both were initially treated at Sarh Outel Bono Provincial Hospital in southern Chad but required advanced care unavailable locally.
After assessing their condition alongside medical staff, General Moubarak Abakar Nassour Hor ordered an immediate transfer to N’Djamena, Chad’s main medical hub, to ensure optimal recovery prospects. Dr. Sayambaye Alladoumdjim, Deputy Director of Sarh Hospital, commended the swift response of defense and security forces in facilitating the urgent evacuation.
Military authorities take action to aid recovery
The two soldiers were airlifted to N’Djamena later that day, where they received specialized medical attention. Military officials stated that this rapid intervention significantly improves their chances of a full recovery. The incident highlights the ongoing security challenges in the region and the military’s commitment to caring for its personnel.
