Senegal president continues purge of sonko loyalists in new dismissals

The wave of dismissals targeting directors-general aligned with Ousmane Sonko continues under President Bassirou Diomaye Faye, with a fresh round announced this Wednesday.

A particularly notable change involves the dismissal of Waly Diouf Bodiang from his role as Director-General of the Autonomous Port of Dakar. A prominent figure within the Pastef movement, he is succeeded by Doune Pathé Mbengue, a former activist from the Apr.

The shake-up also extends to Babo Amadou Ba, National Coordinator of Pastef cadres and Director-General of the Vocational and Technical Training Financing Fund (3FPT), who has been replaced by Soulèye Kane.

In Touba, Lamine Barra Lô, a Pastef representative and Director-General of the National Vocational Training Office (ONFP), has been relieved of his duties and replaced by Mame Awa Ndoye.
