Real Madrid transfer: two reasons blocking Aurélien Tchouaméni’s move this summer

Could Aurélien Tchouaméni leave Real Madrid this summer? The 26-year-old midfielder, currently representing France at the 2026 World Cup, has frequently been mentioned as a potential departure. However, two specific factors are reportedly holding up the French international’s transfer for now.

Since arriving in the summer of 2022, Aurélien Tchouaméni’s stint at Real Madrid might come to an end this summer. While he competes in the 2026 World Cup with the French national team, the player has been linked with a move in recent days. Manchester United is said to be closely monitoring the situation, eyeing a potential transfer for the 26-year-old midfielder. Yet two primary obstacles are preventing a deal with the Red Devils from materialising.

“Real Madrid aren’t keen to open the door for Tchouaméni”

The two issues regarding Tchouaméni remain the same. The first is his salary. He commands a high wage, and at the moment, that’s not something Manchester United wants to commit to. Manchester United admire him and view him as a fantastic player. But for now, Real Madrid are not inclined to let him leave. A phone call from Real Madrid to Manchester United saying he’s available—that hasn’t happened. But if it did, Manchester United would be ready to try. However, the salary problem persists, and the fact that Real Madrid haven’t yet opened the door,” shared Fabrizio Romano on his YouTube channel.

Real Madrid focused on reinforcements

The big question is whether Real Madrid will eventually greenlight Aurélien Tchouaméni’s exit. For now, the Madrid board is concentrating on bringing in new players for José Mourinho. After securing Marc Cucurella and Ibrahima Konaté, the Merengues appear far from finished. A departure for Aurélien Tchouaméni is not the priority at the Casa Blanca at this stage.
