Paris Saint-Germain has confirmed its inaugural summer transfer, with Gonçalo Ramos completing a permanent move to AC Milan. This development prompts the Parisian club to actively pursue a new central forward. In this quest, PSG is reportedly considering Folarin Balogun.

As widely anticipated, Gonçalo Ramos has officially joined AC Milan. PSG announced this transfer via a press release. The club stated, « After three seasons with Paris Saint-Germain, during which he secured no less than 12 trophies, Gonçalo Ramos commits to AC Milan in a definitive transfer. » The Portuguese forward has signed with the Italian giants until 2031, leaving a significant void that PSG now aims to fill through a new acquisition.
Is PSG considering Balogun?
Information has surfaced suggesting that PSG has initiated exploration into a rather unexpected avenue. The Parisian outfit is reportedly showing interest in Folarin Balogun. Last season, he emerged as AS Monaco‘s leading scorer, netting 19 goals across 43 appearances. The American international further demonstrated his capabilities during the recent World Cup. Luis Campos and his recruitment team are said to be particularly impressed by the 24-year-old striker’s profile, noting his valuable experience in Ligue 1 from his stints with Reims and, more recently, AS Monaco.
Is AS Monaco open to a sale?
Currently, PSG has not undertaken any concrete negotiations. However, should the situation evolve, AS Monaco is not expected to resist a potential transfer of Folarin Balogun. The club faces economic challenges following its failure to secure a spot in the Champions League. Consequently, the American attacker is among three players placed on the market by AS Monaco, alongside Lamine Camara and Maghnes Akliouche, both of whom are also on PSG‘s radar. The capital club might therefore be poised for a double swoop from Monaco, though Tottenham and Chelsea are also reportedly vying for Folarin Balogun‘s signature.
