Now, three weeks later in Oslo, Lindsey Heaps experienced another emotional rollercoaster. Just a quarter of an hour into the final, the American believed she had put Les Fenottes ahead, reacting swiftly to a parried header from Wendie Renard. She wasn’t alone in her conviction, but once again, video assistance intervened, disallowing the goal for offside. By mere centimeters, the narrative of the Champions League final could have been entirely different, and the outcome far more joyous for OL Lyonnes and Heaps.
