President Alassane Ouattara is set to implement significant structural changes within his party, the Rassemblement des Houphouëtistes pour la Démocratie et la Paix (RHDP), aiming to reinforce internal discipline. According to insider reports, he shared these plans with the party’s presidium during a meeting held on May 7 in Abidjan.
The reforms include the creation of new governing bodies designed to streamline operations and strengthen oversight. Key additions will be a disciplinary council, a general inspection unit, and other specialized committees tasked with monitoring party activities and ensuring adherence to established rules.
These measures reflect Ouattara’s commitment to tightening control over the RHDP’s ranks, addressing concerns about internal fragmentation and maintaining party cohesion ahead of upcoming political challenges.
