Gabon poste launches app for savers to check names without moving

The director general of Gabon Poste, Alfred Ikaka Bobe, announced on Tuesday that his administration has made available to postal savers whose assets are frozen an application to verify their names on the lists drawn up by the liquidator.

To check their name from a computer or smartphone, users simply need to visit the platform at https://www.ccp.laposte.ga.

Launched last Monday, the platform experienced saturation after recording approximately 10,000 visits within a few hours.

The application has been updated and will be operational from this Wednesday,” Alfred Ikaka Bobe specified.

Savers are asked to confirm that they are still alive. They can also indicate the locality where they wish to receive their payment. The application also concerns savers living outside the country.

Only those savers who have been properly registered by the liquidator and have unfortunately lost their passbook are invited to go to a post office to obtain a new passbook.

As a reminder, in 2017, PostBank SA, a subsidiary of the Post Office, went bankrupt, freezing the savings of many depositors. After numerous unfulfilled promises by the ousted regime of Ali Bongo Ondimba, the transitional government displayed its determination to clear this debt in February 2025.

Around 60,000 savers are said to be affected. A sum of 31.212 billion CFA francs has been pledged to settle the debt over three years, based on one-third disbursement each year.
