The Gabonese government has launched a nationwide crackdown on child labor rings in the capital city of Libreville.

A joint mission involving the justice ministry, security forces, and social affairs department has been deployed to target illicit activities in commercial zones and markets.

A Crime Disguised as Economic Necessity

Gladys Victoire Maganga, director of social affairs and youth protection, emphasized the need for a firm stance against child labor.

The exploitation of child labor is not an economic necessity, but a crime punishable by law.

Breaking the Child Labor Networks

The operation aims to identify commanditaires of these illegal activities and bring them to justice.
