Christopher Raia, the Deputy Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), visited the International Police Cooperation Center (IPCC) on Wednesday. This crucial visit brought together representatives from various law enforcement agencies and security services of nations participating in the upcoming 2026 World Cup. The engagement formed a vital part of the overarching high-level security framework established to safeguard all matches throughout the prestigious international tournament.
During his visit, the senior American official held a dedicated meeting with representatives from Morocco’s General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) and the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST). Mr. Raia conveyed his profound gratitude for Morocco’s active participation in ensuring the security of the event and its significant contributions across all stages of the tournament. He specifically highlighted that the FBI regards the Kingdom of Morocco as a supremely reliable partner, possessing internationally recognized expertise and unparalleled credibility in global security operations.

Addressing the foreign security service representatives gathered at the IPCC, the FBI Deputy Director delivered a powerful speech. He underscored the paramount importance of international partnership and multilateral cooperation, particularly concerning intelligence sharing, as integral components of the security apparatus for the World Cup, which the United States is co-hosting.
Furthermore, Mr. Raia emphasized the immense scale of the challenge involved in securing 78 matches over a period spanning nearly two weeks. He firmly stated that achieving this ambitious objective would be impossible without robust international cooperation. He also noted a discernible increase in threats successfully thwarted by American authorities within their own territory, an outcome he directly attributed to the precision of intelligence shared and the unwavering support provided by partner nations, including Morocco.
