Morocco’s Consul General in Düsseldorf, Ms. Boutaina Bouabid

On June 2, 2026, the Kingdom of Morocco took center stage at the Konsularischer Abend in Düsseldorf, marking a significant milestone in its relationship with Germany. The event, held to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Moroccan-German ties, gathered over 300 policymakers, business leaders, and influential figures in the region.

Addressing the audience, Morocco’s Consul General in Düsseldorf, Ms. Boutaina Bouabid, and Mr. Ismail Lamghari, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Moroccans Residing Abroad (MRE), underscored the depth of the strategic partnership between Rabat and Berlin. They also highlighted the pivotal role played by the Moroccan diaspora in Germany as a bridge for cultural and economic exchange between the two nations.

With the support of the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT), the high-profile gathering showcased the Kingdom’s recent achievements, cultural richness, and evolving appeal. Attendees were treated to a captivating display of traditional Moroccan attire through a fashion parade and an enchanting performance of Gnawa music, both of which left a lasting impression.

The evening served as a powerful reaffirmation of the shared commitment between Morocco and Germany to deepen their diplomatic, economic, and cultural collaboration for years to come.
