At least 10 young civilians, predominantly young men who were part of a motorcycle procession, were killed.
A local resident, speaking anonymously, described the horror: “Ten of our children were killed by gunfire whose origin remains unknown. What was supposed to be a moment of joy turned into profound sorrow.”
The timing of the deadly drone strikes could not have been worse. Weddings hold deep cultural significance in the region, serving as occasions for families and communities to come together. Instead, this event left the village in mourning.

A security source, who requested anonymity for safety reasons, confirmed the military’s involvement in the deadly drone strikes. According to the source, the attack targeted a procession of motorcycles traveling together.
The strikes resulted in at least nine deaths, though local officials reported a higher toll of ten civilians. An elected local official also confirmed the fatalities: “A wedding was about to take place when the drones killed at least ten civilians. It is truly a tragedy.”
The source added that the motorcycle procession was likely mistaken for a convoy of armed individuals, a tragic misidentification that led to the deadly drone strikes.
