Chadian pilgrims urged to follow hajj 2026 safety rules

The Office National pour l’Organisation du Pèlerinage (ORGEP) has issued a stern advisory for Chadian pilgrims preparing for the 2026 Hajj, emphasizing strict adherence to safety and discipline guidelines set by Saudi authorities.

Following the international Hajj conference held in Jeddah on May 20, 2026, the ORGEP, led by General Idriss Dokony Adiker, outlined critical recommendations to ensure a smooth and secure pilgrimage experience for all participants from Chad.

Key restrictions for a disciplined pilgrimage

The ORGEP enforces strict rules to maintain order and safety during the sacred journey. Political or partisan religious discussions are strictly forbidden in hotels and at the holy sites of Mina, Arafat, and Muzdalifah. Any gatherings with political undertones are also prohibited.

Accommodation and visitor regulations

Pilgrims are prohibited from hosting unauthorized individuals in their accommodations or on ritual sites. This measure aims to prevent overcrowding and maintain security across all Hajj locations.

Health and safety precautions

With extreme temperatures expected in Saudi Arabia during the pilgrimage, authorities strongly advise avoiding outdoor activities between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. to minimize health risks. Prolonged walking between ritual sites is discouraged to preserve the well-being of pilgrims.

Support for vulnerable pilgrims

The ORGEP has made provisions for elderly, sick, or physically challenged pilgrims. These individuals may appoint a representative to perform the stoning of the pillars (Djamarat) on their behalf, ensuring everyone can fulfill this essential ritual.

Emergency response measures

In case of emergencies, pilgrims are instructed to contact the dedicated Saudi assistance hotline at 1966 immediately. This ensures rapid response and support during critical situations.

The ORGEP appeals to all Chadian pilgrims to prioritize these guidelines, ensuring a safe and spiritually enriching Hajj experience in 2026.
