Cameroon’s Minister of Transport, Jean Ernest Masséna Ngallè Bibéhè, held high-level talks with Chad’s Prime Minister Allamaye Halina in N’Djamena on May 13, 2026. The meeting focused on resolving transit bottlenecks along the critical Douala-N’Djamena trade corridor.

During the Tripartite Forum involving Chad, Cameroon, and the Central African Republic, Jean Ernest Masséna Ngallè Bibéhè engaged in constructive discussions with Chad’s Prime Minister and key stakeholders, including the Chadian Minister of Transport Fatima Goukouni Weddeye, representatives from the Douala Port Authority, and transport councils from both Chad and the Central African Republic.

The meeting provided an opportunity to review progress on transport cooperation between the two nations. Key agenda items included evaluating outcomes from the N’Djamena Forum, assessing recommendations from the 2024 Kribi edition, reviewing the status of the CamTchad project, examining the condition of the trans-Cameroonian corridor, and addressing persistent challenges faced by transporters along the Douala-N’Djamena route.

Cameroon’s Transport Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to enhancing cargo transit efficiency to Chad. The Chadian Prime Minister acknowledged concerns about Cameroonian drivers and motorbike riders currently detained in Chad, assuring that their situation would be addressed promptly.

Allamaye Halina also highlighted ongoing roadblocks that continue to disrupt freight movement along the Douala-N’Djamena corridor. Following the discussions, he tasked the Cameroonian minister with relaying these concerns to relevant authorities back home.
