Ouagadougou and Rome have underscored the strength of their diplomatic and cooperative bonds during the 80th anniversary celebration of the Italian Republic. The commemorative event, held on the evening of June 2, 2026, at the Italian Embassy in Ouagadougou, brought together high-ranking Burkinabè officials, members of the diplomatic corps, and Italian nationals.

The Burkinabè delegation was led by the Minister Delegate to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bêbgnasgnan Stella Eldine Kabré/Kaboré, who participated in the evening’s reflections, honoring the historical ties that bind Burkina Faso and Italy.
Speaking at the ceremony, Gabriele Di Muzio, the Italian Ambassador to Burkina Faso, highlighted the depth of bilateral cooperation, particularly through initiatives led by Italy’s development cooperation agency. He emphasized Rome’s commitment to supporting Ouagadougou in areas such as stabilization, humanitarian aid, and socioeconomic progress. « Supporting the Burkinabè people remains our core mission in this country. We envision a lasting partnership rooted in shared values and mutual respect, » he affirmed.

On behalf of the Burkinabè authorities, Minister Kabré/Kaboré conveyed congratulations from the President of Faso and the Burkinabè people to the Italian community. She praised the dynamic cooperation between the two nations, built on solidarity, mutual trust, and a shared drive to foster development.
The minister also spotlighted the Burkina Faso’s growing investment appeal across key sectors. She urged Italian business leaders to capitalize on the opportunities and incentives provided by the Burkinabè government to deepen economic exchanges and partnerships.
