Benin’s new president romuald wadagni sworn in after historic election

Sixteen foreign delegations were also present, including representatives from neighboring countries such as Togo, Nigeria, Burkina Faso, and Niger—with whom relations have faced recent strain. The French Minister for International Partnerships was also in attendance, underscoring the importance of international collaboration.

Addressing the regional leaders, Wadagni underscored the necessity of deepening cooperation across West Africa. “We are bound together by shared challenges and destinies,” he stated. “Our strength lies in unity, and together, we must forge a path toward peace, stability, and shared prosperity.”
