Bénin’s infrastructure drive: minister alé demands quality and adherence to deadlines

The Minister of Living Environment and Transport, Georges Alé, recently concluded an extensive inspection tour across three pivotal road construction sites in Bénin. This significant visit underscored the government’s unwavering commitment to technical excellence, environmental protection, public health standards, and strict adherence to project timelines for critical infrastructure development. The initial point of inspection led the ministerial delegation to the Djonou bridge within the Abomey-Calavi municipality. Here, dredging operations have reached full completion. This crucial intervention has successfully cleared the waterway, significantly improving rainwater drainage and reinforcing the structural integrity and safety of the bridge itself.

Subsequently, the minister proceeded to the Missessinto-Allada (RNIE2) road section, where a vital 2×2 lane expansion project is underway, managed by the joint venture SCET Tunisie / BECI BTP. While commending the commendable progress and momentum of the works, Georges Alé firmly reiterated the imperative of meticulously following the contractual schedule. This ensures the prompt delivery of a modern and secure thoroughfare for motorists and commuters.

The inspection concluded at the Allada roundabout and the adjacent retention basins. Addressing critical sanitation concerns, the minister directed technical teams to forge close cooperation with the Ministry of Health. This proactive measure aims to preempt and mitigate any potential public health risks associated with water stagnation in these areas.
