Having received a yellow card for a tackle from behind in the 54th minute, Ainsley Maitland-Niles was undoubtedly under pressure during Tuesday’s crucial match against Sparta Prague. Yet, the English right-back demonstrated keen positional awareness, converting captain Corentin Tolisso’s precise cross at the far post. This crucial goal, scored with OL playing against ten men, provided a liberating 2-0 lead in the 66th minute.

The defender had endured a particularly challenging first leg, struggling defensively in Prague where Josimar Alcocer’s dribbling prowess had frequently exposed him.
