Key sectors identified for enhanced collaboration
The ministers explored multiple avenues for mutually beneficial cooperation, with particular emphasis on sectors where Egypt’s expertise aligns with Togo’s developmental priorities:

- Energy initiatives: Partnerships in renewable energy and grid modernization to address Togo’s growing electricity demands
- Agricultural transformation: Technology transfer and capacity building to enhance productivity and food security
- Pharmaceutical industry: Local manufacturing initiatives to reduce import dependence and improve healthcare access
- Port infrastructure: Expansion and modernization of Lomé’s port facilities to strengthen West African trade networks
Digital innovation and security cooperation on the agenda

Additionally, the discussions covered regional security challenges, with a focus on conflict resolution mechanisms in the Great Lakes and Sahel regions.
Minister Abdelatty praised Togo’s proactive mediation efforts across several African hotspots, reaffirming Egypt’s support for dialogue-based approaches to peace and stability on the continent. The meeting concluded with a joint commitment to deepen strategic collaboration within the framework of South-South cooperation.
