Strengthening security along the Tchad and Central African Republic border

Military leadership from Tchad and the Central African Republic (RCA) are intensifying their joint efforts to stabilize volatile border regions. On May 11, General Moubarak Abakar Nassour Hor, who commands the Tchad-RCA joint force, led a strategic working session to evaluate the impact of recent field maneuvers.

Reviewing the Al-Hamamia operations

This high-level meeting brought together military officials from both nations dedicated to securing their shared frontier. The primary focus was assessing the results of operations “Al-Hamamia 1” and “Al-Hamamia 2,” while also identifying specific security vulnerabilities that persist in certain rural sectors.

Throughout the deliberations, participants explored innovative strategies to increase the visibility and effectiveness of defense and security forces in areas most susceptible to cross-border criminal activity.

Launch of mission Sentinelle

During the assembly, Brigadier General Moubarak Abakar Nassour Hor officially greenlit the operational framework for a new mission known as “Sentinelle.” This initiative, developed by the G5 cell, represents a significant step forward in bilateral military coordination.

The upcoming operation involves the strategic deployment of multiple military units supported by a network of both permanent and mobile surveillance stations. This structure is designed to tighten the monitoring of suspicious movements, ensure a rapid response to emerging threats, and solidify the security partnership between the two neighboring countries.

According to the commander of the joint force, this proactive shift is essential for providing better protection to local populations and addressing the unique security challenges of this strategic border zone with greater efficiency.
