Sadio, Ousmane Sonko Speaks Out Against Governance, Accuses Diomaye Faye of Abandoning PASTEF Project

Ousmane Sonko, the president of PASTEF-Les Patriotes, delivered a notable speech in Sadio, Diourbel region, on Sunday, where he expressed strong criticism towards the current governance.

Before his supporters, Ousmane Sonko revisited the circumstances that led to Bassirou Diomaye Faye’s election as president of the Republic in March 2024, recalling that he had himself run for office after his candidacy was invalidated.

‘He was propelled to the top and has since diverged from the project, putting the people’s hope at risk,’ Ousmane Sonko said.

The Prime Minister estimated that the political project presented to the Senegalese had gradually moved away from its initial trajectory, evoking a ‘lost hope’ and calling for a return to the commitments made to citizens.

Ousmane Sonko also emphasized his role in the political struggle that led to the 2024 alternation, affirming that a significant part of this process was carried out under his leadership.

Looking ahead to upcoming elections, Ousmane Sonko mentioned the 2026 and 2029 dates as important milestones in pursuing PASTEF’s political project.
