President Romuald Wadagni of Bénin has announced the formation of his initial government, a cabinet comprising 24 ministers, including several delegated portfolios.
After his victory in the presidential election on April 12, 2026, Romuald Wadagni took the oath of office on Sunday, May 24, during a formal ceremony held at the Palais des congrès in Cotonou. On the evening of his inauguration, the newly installed president proceeded to constitute his first governmental team.
This new administration consists of 24 ministerial positions, notably featuring three delegated ministers who will serve under the Minister of Economy and Finance. Continuity is also evident, as seven ministers from the preceding Patrice Talon administration have been retained, though some have been assigned new responsibilities.
President Romuald Wadagni has publicly committed to maintaining and advancing the development trajectory for Bénin, a path vigorously pursued by his predecessor, Patrice Talon.
