Niger prepares major investment forum to showcase economic potential

The Nigerien government has taken a decisive step toward organizing the upcoming Invest in Niger Forum, scheduled for November 24–26, 2026, by officially launching the committee tasked with overseeing preparations. This high-stakes initiative aims to position Niger as a prime destination for both domestic and international investors by showcasing the nation’s untapped economic potential across key sectors.

In Niamey, officials inaugurated the ad hoc committee responsible for steering the event’s organization. Speaking to the newly formed team, Abdoulaye Seydou, Minister of Commerce and Industry, underscored the forum’s critical role in shaping the country’s economic future. With the countdown now underway, he emphasized the need for meticulous planning and flawless execution to meet the ambitious objectives set for this landmark gathering.

The forum is designed to highlight investment opportunities in Niger’s most dynamic sectors, with Minister Seydou stressing the nation’s vast economic prospects. His message was clear: creating an enabling environment is essential to instill confidence, attract capital, and foster sustainable growth for the benefit of all stakeholders.

The guest list extends to regional partners within the Sahel Alliance, including delegations from Burkina Faso, Mali, Togo, Ghana, Chad, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, India, and Saudi Arabia. Structured governance through specialized subcommittees

The ad hoc committee comprises experts from various ministries and professional bodies, organized into four dedicated subcommittees, each tasked with a distinct role:

  • Logistics, exhibition, protocol, and security: Ensuring flawless event execution.
  • Communication and institutional coordination: Driving visibility and stakeholder engagement.

The committee’s mandate is comprehensive, encompassing the development of the event’s strategic roadmap, agenda finalization, identification of bankable projects for investor presentations, and nationwide and international promotion to maximize visibility.
