Niger: high-level meeting between general toumba and burkinabe delegation

Niamey, July 27, 2026 – High-level consultations within the Alliance of Sahel States (AES) continue alongside celebrations marking the third anniversary of the National Council for the Safeguard of the Homeland (CNSP)‘s rise to power. On Monday, General Mohamed Toumba, Niger’s Minister of State for Interior, Public Security and Territorial Administration, received Bassolma Bazié, President of Burkina Faso’s National Commission for the AES Confederation, at his office in Niamey.

Bassolma Bazié, in Niger for the commemorative events, paid a courtesy visit to the Ministry of Interior. The meeting provided an opportunity for both officials to discuss pressing challenges facing AES member states and explore ways to deepen regional cooperation.

Strengthening security cooperation in the AES Confederation
