Ndiaga Seck clears air on private life amid legal scrutiny

During his testimonies before investigators, Senegalese politician Ndiaga Seck addressed his relationship with Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko, delivering a straightforward account of his private life. With a firm declaration in Wolof, he stated, « Xamul woon li may dund »« He knew nothing about my personal affairs » — categorically denying any knowledge of his sexual orientation or lifestyle choices.

This case, which originated from the urban police station in Linguère, has since progressed to the investigation stage under a remand detention order issued by the examining magistrate in Louga. The 51-year-old politician was formally charged and placed under arrest this week by the investigating judge at the Louga Regional Court following his transfer from the Linguère police station on allegations of « presumed unnatural acts. »

Legal proceedings underway

The investigation continues as the judicial process unfolds, with the examining magistrate reviewing evidence and testimonies. The case has drawn attention due to the high-profile nature of the individuals involved and the seriousness of the charges.

Public statements and implications

Ndiaga Seck‘s remarks during the hearings aim to clarify his position, emphasizing the separation between his private life and public duties. His statements reflect a strategic response to the allegations, seeking to mitigate potential reputational damage while navigating the legal complexities of the case.
