Morocco’s rising star Ismaël Saïbari shines at World Cup 2026

Morocco vs Scotland match highlight
Morocco’s Ismaël Saïbari continues his World Cup 2026 goal-scoring streak with a brace that has fans celebrating.

Two matches, two goals! Following his opener against Brazil, Ismaël Saïbari struck again against Scotland with a thunderous strike just two minutes into the game. The single goal proved decisive, likely securing Morocco’s spot in the Round of 16. With four points from two games (and an upcoming clash against Haiti), the Atlas Lions are statistically favored to advance as one of the best third-placed teams.

The Moroccan squad owes much of its success to their sharpshooter, whose brilliance shone once more. After dazzling goalkeeper Alisson with a delicate finish in the tournament opener, Saïbari unleashed a powerful shot that left the Scottish goalkeeper helpless.

A stellar performance from the PSV Eindhoven forward was complemented by breaking transfer news. Specialized journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed Saïbari’s imminent move to Bayern Munich for a staggering €55 million. Though yet to be officially announced, the transfer isn’t a secret—Moroccan coach Mohamed Ouahbi had already hinted at it before kickoff. “We take great pride when Moroccan players shine in top clubs, and Bayern Munich is undoubtedly one of them,” Ouahbi remarked. “Saïbari remains composed and focused on his duties with the national team.” He added that Bayern Munich’s management understands the priority remains with Morocco, praising Vincent Kompany’s leadership.
