Abdellatif Hammouchi, director general of national security and territorial surveillance, met with Hayder Shiya Albarrak, Iraq’s ambassador to Morocco, on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at the DGSN headquarters in Rabat. The talks focused on enhancing bilateral security cooperation across public safety, intelligence sharing, technical assistance, and police training programs.
According to a statement from the DGSN-DGST pole, the two officials reviewed ways to expand partnership mechanisms, including exchanging expertise and strengthening joint capabilities. They also assessed current regional security challenges and the persistent threat of international terrorism, exchanging views on shared concerns.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening security and intelligence cooperation between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Iraq. The meeting underscored a common vision to counter evolving security threats and promote stability in the region.
