Morocco has solidified humanitarian assistance as a central element of its external relations and continental partnerships. This strategic direction, rooted in the leadership of King Mohammed VI, was highlighted during a recent meeting of the African Union Peace and Security Council.
Ambassador Mohamed Arrouchi, the Kingdom’s Permanent Representative to the AU and UNECA, emphasized that this commitment remains a primary objective for the nation. In his address during a public session focused on the challenges facing refugees and internally displaced persons (IDPs) across the continent, Arrouchi noted that Morocco‘s role as the AU Champion on migration informs its proactive approach.
The Kingdom continues to dedicate significant resources to addressing humanitarian emergencies throughout Africa, striving to alleviate the suffering caused by various crises and ensuring that aid reaches those in need. This policy reflects a broader dedication to stability and solidarity within the African Union framework.
