maurice kamto’s urgent call for Cameroon’s future and african renaissance
Maurice Kamto, the national president of the Mouvement pour la renaissance du Cameroun (Mrc), has issued a powerful appeal for national awakening, resilience, and hope amidst the ongoing political challenges in Cameroon.
In his weekly address, a tradition he has maintained for over a year, the prominent opposition figure consistently shares a foundational thought to inspire his compatriots.
“We are left with a stark choice: either extinguish our future and resign ourselves to perpetual submission, or rise up with the last vestiges of our strength – the single leg that remains, the sole arm that still moves, the one open eye that refuses to close because it perceives the future where others see only emptiness,” Kamto declared. “I will not lose my conviction in the triumph of reason; I will not. Because beyond the tremors, the primal herd instincts, the irrationality, and the hatreds, it is the illuminating light of conscience that guides the journey of peoples. This is what will save Cameroon. This is what will uplift Africa.”
The leader of the Mouvement pour la renaissance du Cameroun firmly believes that the revitalization of his nation serves as both the catalyst and emblem for the broader renaissance of the entire African continent, a critical aspect of current African affairs and continent news.
