The summer transfer window has been open for several weeks and Olympique de Marseille is making headlines. The club from the south of France is under scrutiny from UEFA and must sell players to avoid the risk of being banned from European competitions. While Mason Greenwood’s future dominates discussions, another star could also be packing his bags.

After a disastrous season, no one at Marseille is safe. Missing out on Champions League qualification already forced the club to tighten its belt, but the need has become an urgent crisis following UEFA’s recent warning. New sporting director Grégory Lorenzi is working on multiple fronts to navigate this critical summer for the team.
Greenwood could leave OM
The first major case is already known: everyone is talking about Mason Greenwood. The 24-year-old winger, Marseille’s top scorer over the past two seasons, appears set for an exit, with Fenerbahçe and especially AS Roma interested in securing his services. Italian media report advanced negotiations with Roma, but there has been a sudden chill. OM reportedly took issue with how Roma’s management handled the situation, allegedly contacting the player without first informing his club.
Højbjerg also on his way out?
While that saga seems to be stalling, another deal could be moving forward. Reports from Bergamo indicate that Atalanta wants to convince Pierre-Emile Højbjerg to leave Marseille. The Danish international is said to be the top target of new sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli, who previously tried to sign him for Juventus and now wants another chance. And the door is far from closed. In fact, the Bergamo daily claims that OM has agreed to let the midfielder go, setting a minimum price of 10 million euros.
