Lomé mobilizes for national blood donation day on june 12 2026

As the 22nd World Blood Donor Day approaches on 14 June 2026, the National Blood Transfusion Centre (CNTS) in Lomé is rallying residents of the capital and surrounding areas to participate in a special blood donation drive.

The campaign, themed « A drop of humanity. Give blood. Save lives », will culminate in a dedicated donation event on Friday, 12 June 2026, running from 08:00 to 16:00.

Two convenient donation sites in Lomé

Donors can visit either of the two designated locations:

  • The CNTS headquarters in Tokoin Doumasséssé, directly opposite EPP Doumasséssé 1;
  • The Tokoin Collection and Distribution Post (PCD), located within Sylvanus Olympio University Hospital, behind the hemodialysis unit.

Urgent call for solidarity to meet critical blood needs

This initiative aims to bolster the national blood supply and ensure hospitals have the resources they need. The CNTS is urging the public to step forward and contribute to this life-saving effort, emphasizing that a single donation can help multiple patients.

The institution’s message is clear: « Together through donation ». The success of this campaign depends on the generosity and civic spirit of every volunteer willing to roll up their sleeves.

In advance, the CNTS of Lomé expresses deep gratitude to all those who will take part in this vital solidarity drive for patients in need of blood transfusions.
