Opposition Leaders in DRC Call for Mass Protest Against Constitutional Changes

The leaders of the opposition in Democratic Republic of Congo have called on citizens to participate in a mass protest and demand the resignation of President Félix Tshisekedi over constitutional changes that could allow him to seek a third term.

According to sources, the opposition is concerned about the potential for Tshisekedi to use his new constitutional powers to consolidate his hold on power and suppress dissent.
The protesters are expected to gather in the capital city of Kinshasa, where they will demand that Tshisekedi step down and call for fresh elections.
